Jabberwocky Children’s Bookshop was established in 1983 and is an independent bookshop. Jabberwocky has a history of commitment to young readers, schools and home educators throughout New Zealand.

Situated in Remuera, we are within close proximity of all major motorways.

As a specialist children’s bookshop we are proud to stock ‘the best in children’s books’. We carry an extensive range catering for all ages – babies to teens.

From board and clothbooks to picture books, fiction, non-fiction and audio, we have something to suit all readers.
Every month we select the best new titles from all major publishers to complement our comprehensive backlist range. We order frequently from the USA, sourcing books not readily available in the local market.

‘Special Orders’ are one of our key services and if you wish to purchase a title not listed on our website, please contact us and we will endeavour to source it for you.


Our website provides secure on-line ordering and we accept mail orders from throughout the country and overseas. Relevant freight costs will be advised by return email.

We happily provide individual assistance, helping you select the most suitable books for the children in your life.
We are privileged to host author events, (local and international) from time to time. These include visits to local schools, small gatherings in store or at a local venue to large
